Have you ever wondered what the reason dinosaurs became extinct are? Perhaps you thought you learned it in grade school but perhaps you are fuzzy on the actual reason why. Perhaps you heard rumors floating about and are ready to know the trust. This makes sense and it’s always a good idea to learn the truth about wondering what killed the dinosaurs back then That is why the experts are here! We are going to share exactly what caused dinosaurs to become extinct and what you need to know so that you have a better sense of history. Keep reading to learn more.

It’s first important to know exactly how long the dinosaurs lived and what they were like when they actually were on planet earth. Since it’s so long ago, it seems like they were only here for a short time. The truth is however that they were on earth for more than 150 million years. In fact, dinosaurs were what dominated the earth. Quite suddenly we know, around 65 million years ago they vanished forever. The real question suddenly lies, how did they suddenly fade away?

There are clues everywhere about what actually happened with dinosaurs. Some suggest a volcano that was huge erupted, some suggest that something hit the earth which caused them to be wiped out. Others believe a combination of a couple of things and other scientists are just not sure. Regardless of the reason, you can still create your own thoughts based off of what you read.

Other reasons why dinosaurs became extinct were because of climate change, different diseases, changes in the things the dinosaurs were eating, the plants altered, and other geologic events. Like we said earlier, it could have been a combination of these events to cause the dinosaurs to die 65 million years ago. It would have been a combination of multiple reasons that happens to happen all at once causing the disruption of earth.

There have been so many different conversations in school, among scientists, and among people about how dinosaurs became extinct. A recent explanation came to be during a debate stating that dinosaurs became extinct after a crash hit the earth in the Gulf of Mexico. A Meteorite landed and caused enough dust and debris to cause no sunlight for a very extended period of time. Because of this long time without sun and plants, other chain reactions started to occur.

The problem with this theory, however, is that they have not been able to find a dinosaur skeleton during this period in time. This means there really is no specific evidence that the dinosaurs had not died off before this meteorite had hit the earth. Although they may have found it happened during the same period of time, it may not have been during the exact same time. Even a million years later may seem like a similar time period, in all reality, that’s a big difference when you think about it.

As you can see, that really does not answer your question. There is still a lot to learn about dinosaurs and how they became extinct. It’s important to think about what caused them to become extinct and what could have caused them to become extinct since we cannot know for sure.

To finish off our thoughts, we wanted to leave you with a couple of different theories to think about.

The first is that a meteorite crashed into the planet earth. This is just like we talked about but you believe that the timelines are similar and that is how the dinosaurs became extinct.

The next is that ash as well as gas both caused a volcano to suffocate the dinosaurs on each which then caused them to become extinct.

The third major reason is that there was a disease that wiped out the population of all dinosaurs on planet earth.

The final reason is that there was a food chain imbalance that caused dinosaurs to starve which slowly caused them to become extinct.

As you can see it is not exactly straight forward. By know multiple theories however you are learning more about history and more about the planet. You can always become more certain about a specific theory, but know that the science states that there is not a specific reason stated why asteroids killed the dinos Until we get to the bottom of it, we still enjoy learning more about dinosaurs, have fun with your children learning about dinosaurs, and enjoy learning about history.
